Twenty-Four: Another Surprise

After a long night of partying at Hakkasan at MGM, we wake up to this awesome view of the south Las Vegas Strip. Feeling a bit of a hangover, soreness, and just dead tired, Kyle tells me to check my email.

My first thoughts: Oh my G, I'm going to get a massage at THE Encore Spa.

Kyle took me on a tour of their spa before a while back and I'm lost for words that I'm actually going to spend a whole day there. I have the most thoughtful boyfriend in the world. What more could I ask for after a trip to LA, a pair of Tiesto headphones, an amazing dinner at Picasso and a night out at Hakkasan?  He knew what I would want to do: get a massage.

He walked me to the spa and we checked in, and there was an attendant who gave me a tour of the spa and took care of my needs. This delicious strawberry lemon water greeted me at the entrance. So refreshing.

The attendant gave me slippers in my size and gave me a robe and a locker to use for the entire day.

The vanity area inside the locker lounges.

I took a long, long shower. The water was perfectly warm and the scent of the shampoo, conditioner and body wash was so relaxing.

I headed over to the Tranquility lounge, where I was to wait for my therapist for the massage.

Tea, coffee, snacks at my pleasure. I was trying so hard to contain my excitement!

I've always seen pictures of this walkway and to finally be there walking through it was a dream come true. The ambience was amazing.

My therapist, Amber, shows me to the treatment room where I settle down to the massage table. The heated massage table. I could fall asleep right at that second. Next words I hear: "Miss Mendoza, breathe deeply. This is a lavender citrus scent." Then I went to lala land. She knew where I wanted to be massaged, and aromatherapy on top of that, oh it was an experience I will cherish for the rest of my life.

Feeling so refreshed after the massage.

Cucumber infused ice cold towels and cucumber slices. I honestly went through about 6 of these. I used them in the steam sauna, dry sauna and when I took a nap on the heated lounge chairs.

I made my way through the spa, trying out all the amenities I could find. I used the whirlpools, saunas, and countless showers. It was so relaxing to be away from the outside world. I took these pictures then I put my phone away for the last two hours. My mind was clear, I had no worries, no stress, just full relaxation. I had many moments when I couldn't believe I was spending a day at this spa. Thank you again, Kyle, for everything! I can't thank you enough for all your efforts to make this birthday week so special and unforgettable for me. I love you!
